Kids and Families involved with the local Grand Canyon Council Boy Scouts of America (GCC BSA) will be collecting and donating non-perishable food for local Valley food banks

Saturday drop-off of food at United Food Bank in Mesa and St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix

Why:

One in six Arizonans and one in four Arizona youths are impacted by food insecurity. The Scouts are working to beat last year’s record of 33,461 pounds to donate to local food banks including United Food Bank, St. Mary’s and others.

Scouting for Food is an annual drive and an opportunity for Scouts to participate in community service and fight hunger in our communities.

Scouts have already begun distributing door hangers in their neighborhoods to announce the upcoming food drive. Scouts will return on Saturday, Feb. 3 to collect donations from thousands of doorsteps across the state and deliver them to their local food banks and pantries.
