Arizona Friends of Foster Children Hosts 6th Annual Backpack and School Supply Drive to Benefit Foster Children JULY PHOENIX

WHO: Anyone who loves buying school supplies and has a penchant for generous giving to help children in need

WHAT: 6th Annual Backpack & School Supply Drive 

Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation (AFFCF) announces its sixth annual Backpack and School Supply Drive. The organization, which has been promoting self-esteem within and enriching the lives of the more than 19,000 children in Arizona foster care via the funding of activities, education and other needs since 1983, invites the community to support local foster children and this important cause by purchasing a backpack and school supplies or making a donation.

Last year, 5,600 backpacks were filled through AFFCF’s drive efforts; the organization’s current goal is to fill 5,000 new backpacks full of school supplies for the 2018-2019 school year.

WHERE: 

4750 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 86018 — in the Safeway parking lot

WHY: To help foster children in Arizona start the 2018-2019 school year off right with a new backpack loaded with much-need school supplies.

DETAILS: In addition to backpacks, suggested new school supply donations include:

• Crayons/Colored Markers
• Paper/Notebooks
• Binders/Folders
• Glue Sticks
• Rulers
• Dictionaries/Thesauruses
• White-Out
• Calculators
• Flash Drives
• Alarm Clocks
