Chandler Center for the Arts presents ‘An Afternoon with Shirley MacLaine’

Multi-Award Winner, Film and Television Star Performs February 10, 2019

CHANDLER, Ariz. –  Academy Award-winning actress, dancer and author Shirley MacLaine is coming to the Chandler Center for the Arts on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 3 p.m. to share a montage of memorable film moments and private revelations about her extraordinary life, career and spiritual journey.

A 60-year veteran of film and television, MacLaine’s résumé boasts more than 50 feature films highlighted by an Oscar and six Academy Award nominations, six Emmy Award nominations, seven Golden Globe Awards—including the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement—and the title of international best-selling author.

MacLaine, who appeared at the Oscars in February 2017 as a presenter, is a longtime outspoken advocate for civil rights and liberties, women’s rights and spiritual understanding. She is known for her faith in reincarnation, angels, the power of crystals and other New Age beliefs. She addresses these topics at length, as well as her Hollywood career, in her 1983 book “Out on a Limb” and 1986 book “Dancing in the Light.”
