Our Mom Our Hero / Helping Hands for Single Moms Event

This year, families have the opportunity to honor Mom on Mother’s Day at the unique and inspiring “Our Mom Our Hero” event.  The event will celebrate the love and sacrifices Mothers make for their families.  Moms will laugh and cry but, most of all, walk away encouraged.  Brenda Warner, author, speaker, and wife of Hall of Fame and former AZ Cardinals quarterback, Kurt Warner, will warm the hearts of all in attendance as she shares from her rich experience of raising a family of seven children.

This will be a Mother’s Day to remember – a special way to say “Mom, we love you.” Daughters, sons, husbands – all family members – will leave with a greater appreciation for their mother, grandmother or mother-in-law!

The event includes a scrumptious meal from “The Park” one of the newest restaurants in downtown Phoenix featuring an indoor, nature-inspired eating experience; music by DJ Dean Michaels; EMCEE Nina D KMLE 107.9, a present for every mom in attendance; “The Top Ten Reasons to be a Mom;” and, a kids craft zone hosted by Children's Learning Adventure Childcare Centers.

The event host, Helping Hands for Single Moms, assists low-income single mom families while the mother pursues a college education, financial independence and a positive family legacy.  Over the past 16 years, it has delivered over $4 million in scholarships and services to hundreds of low-income single mom college student families.  Since 2005, 229 moms have earned college degrees in various disciplines including nursing, business, education, and, more. 

“Our Mom Our Hero” will also feature a special surprise provided by Helping Hands for Single Moms key community partner NARPRO (Neighborhood Auto Repair Professionals.) NARPRO shops have provided car care advice, maintenance, repairs, replacement cars and more for almost ten years to the moms in the organization. To learn more, go to www.narpro.com

Tickets are $65 for an adult and $25 for kids under 10.  A child craft zone for kids under 10 will be provided by Children's Learning Adventure Childcare Centers.
