Pompeii Uncovered Lecture Series: Roman Arts, Eats, and Entertainment
WHO: Join Mike Zajac, independent scholar and professor at Arizona State University and the Maricopa Community College system and Dr. Nancy Serwint, ancient art and archaeology professor at Arizona State University.
WHAT: Come after hours to enjoy Pompeii Uncovered Lecture Series: Roman Arts, Eats, and Entertainment free with purchase of POMPEII: THE EXHIBITION ticket. The Lecture runs from 7:15–8:45 and Pompeii: The Exhibit is open from 6-10pm at the Arizona Science Center. Daily life in Pompeii was completely dependent on wealth. The wealthy lived luxurious, extravagant lives where nothing was out of reach, while the urban poor, the vast majority of the Roman population, lived in squalor barely scraping by. This talk explores how each class lived and will showcase the vast difference in the quality of life for the elite and the poor.
