Phoenix Rescue Mission’s Frozen Turkey Saturday event aims to provide frozen turkeys and food boxes to more than 1,000 families. The public is encouraged to bring a turkey to help feed those in need of a Thanksgiving meal and tour the Mission’s Community Solutions Center. Visitors can also enjoy a free lunch and listen to live musical entertainment.

Arizona ranks among the worst states in the nation for homelessness, while more than 18,000 people in Maricopa County have no place to call home. To lift their spirits during the holidays, Phoenix Rescue Missions’ inaugural “HOMELESS FOR THE HOLIDAYS” operation will be in high gear collecting food, water, blankets, socks, sleeping bags, toys, monetary donations and other items at drop-off locations throughout the Valley.
