Calling all angels, soldiers and bonbons!

Ballet Arizona will discover the 150 youth performers that will star in its holiday production of “The Nutcracker” on Sunday, Sept. 10, including the performance’s main character, young Clara, and classic roles like angels, soldiers and bonbons. Auditions take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Ballet Arizona facility (2835 E. Washington St. Phoenix) and are broken down by age and gender.

“The Nutcracker” is the ultimate holiday story, and Ballet Arizona takes its version of the Christmas classic seriously. Named one of the “three finest productions” in the country by The New York Times Dance Critic, Alastair Macaulay, Ib Andersen’s “The Nutcracker” is a $1.8 million spectacle for the senses.
