Art of Recovery Expo keynote speaker Austin Eubanks will share his long journey to recovery, following the dark day at Columbine High School in April 1999 that launched him into years of addiction as he attempted to cope with the trauma.

The Expo features over 100 leaders in the field of addiction and behavioral health – all in one location to provide information and tools necessary for healthy, successful, long-term recovery. Exhibitors include a mix of counselors, agencies, treatment facilities, out-patient clinics, marriage and family therapists and specialists in non-substance addictions such as eating disorders, gambling and more.

 

A total of 790 opioid deaths were reported in 2016 in Arizona, a 16 percent increase from 2015. Earlier this year, Gov. Doug Ducey declared a public-health emergency that seeks to bolster the state's efforts to counter the epidemic that continues to trend upwards in the state.
