Ever wonder what it’s like to work in various health care fields? On Tuesday, August 8, those aspiring to work in the industry will be able to experience a sampling during Carrington College’s Health Care Science Fair at campuses Valley wide, including: Glendale Center, Mesa, Phoenix East and Phoenix North. Hosted in honor of Carrington College’s 50th Anniversary, this unique event is open complimentary to anyone interested in pursuing a career in health care and will provide a chance to perform real-world tasks one would experience in the field. A sampling of demos for the Phoenix North and/or Mesa campuses are listed below.

Dental Assisting:

Using mouth models and tooth brushes to interact with

Offering dental-themed coloring sheets for kids

Showcasing ortho and bleach trays

Creating models from impressions using materials/stone

Medical Assisting:

Taking vitals such as blood pressure, temperature and pulse

Focusing on the importance of handwashing

Medical Billing and Coding:

Offering stations with word puzzles, coloring pages and bone identification projects

Pharmacy Technology:

Filling prescriptions with candy

Processing a script, including RX and filling the medication

Veterinary Technology:

Wrapping surgical gowns, donning surgical gowns, using the microscope and providing dog CPR

Viewing various bacteria under the microscope
