Stephanie and Adam Mannon

Stephanie and Adam first met their freshman year at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. They both shared a passion for sports with Adam being on the baseball team and Stephanie playing basketball. Adam was then drafted to the Milwaukee Brewers in 2003 and Stephanie continued her education at ASU, graduating in 2006. After suffering a career-ending injury, Adam came back to ASU and received a full ride and will be graduating in May 2011. Stephanie, who is a tax analyst and was the first-ever Face of Foothills model for Arizona Foothills, couldn’t help but gush to us about her sweet hubby.

How did the two of you meet?

Stephanie: Adam and I met our freshman year in college in our honors English/Sociology block class.

Was it love at first sight?

Stephanie: Well, it wasn’t quite love at first sight for me… considering he would basically roll out of bed, come to class wearing gym clothes and his baseball cap slightly turned sideways. You know, he had to uphold his status of being the “cool” baseball player on campus. It wasn’t until it was my 19th birthday that I began to think that I just may be wrong to “judge the book based on the cover”. Not only did he remember my birthday (from an earlier conversation), but he handmade me a card with a picture of one of my favorite places on earth. I knew then he was something special.

How long have you been together/married?

Stephanie: Adam and I have been together for eight years and married for four.

What do you love most about your partner?

Stephanie: Wow, there are so many things that I love about Adam. He is handsome, honest, giving, hard-working, funny, smart, and athletic and the list goes on and on. What I love the most though, is how thoughtful and loving he is to me. It’s the little things he does like sending me a text saying “I love you!”, a big hug when a I get home from work or just holding my hand as we take our nightly walk around the neighborhood just talking about life.

What do you think is the success to your relationship?

Stephanie: I think the success to our relationship has been putting our faith in God first, being respectful to each other even in a argument or disagreement, setting aside time for just one another (not always a easy one to do when schedules get busy), keeping an open line of communication and lots and lots of laughter!

What does your ideal date night entail?

Stephanie: An ideal date night would entail a cozy homemade dinner at home, followed by a competitive round of cards or Wii Frisbee golf and then venture out later for a stroll on the town with a stop at a local frozen yogurt shop.
