So we’ve talked about the hottest trends forĀ  spring 2009 and even zero’ed in on some of them like the jumpsuit, but something to definitely not overlook is the hottest spring 2009 accessories. So what exactly are this season’s must-have items? From big headbands to open-toe boots, there’s something for all to like. Here’s a few of spring 2009’s hottest accessories.

Something Snakeskin

This spring,if there’s one texture to try out, it’s gotta be something snakeskin. Personally I’d do it with a pair of sexy sandals or a cute clutch like this Carlos Falchi snakeskin clutch from Neiman Marcus. It’s got that bit of edge without being too over-the-top.

Shoes with Hardware

Whether studded with grommets, zippers or other hardware, embellished shoes are definitely a hot spring 2009 accessory trend. These Giuseppe Zanotti sandals from Saks Fifth Avenue are aggressive yet totally sexy.

Open-toe boots

I love love love boots for fall. And transitioning into spring with open-toe boots is such a fun, new trend that I’m totally on board with. I’m seriously feeling these Alexander Wang open-toe boots from Barney’s. They’re super fashion-forward and, of course, have just the right amount of height.

The chain-link handbag

It may seem a little 80’s but the chain-link shoulder bag is back. This Lanvin one from Barney’s is right on trend for spring. The classic Chanel bag, after all, never goes out of style. Givenchy, Fendi, Prada and Marc Jacobs all came out with some chain-linkĀ  handbags this season.

The Statement Necklace

Big, bold and beautiful. That’s definitely the idea with this spring 2009 trend. Wear a statment necklace with something basic like a little black dress so that your accessory is the star of the outfit. You can get this Kenneth Jay Lane gold statement necklace at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Oversize Headbands

So here’s a trend that you’ll either love or hate, it’s the big, floral oversize headband. I think it’s fun, flirty and super feminine. And definitely channels Blair Waldorf. This oversize floral headband is a Jennifer Behr design you can get at www.jenniferbehr.com.

Funky Fringe

Here’s another trend you’ll either love or hate, it’s fringe, fringe, fringe. It definitely made a splash for Fall 2008 and for Spring 2009, it’s sticking around. I’ll admit, I really hated it at first but this is one that’s definitely grown on me. Whether it’s fringed shoes, bags or vests, that extra bit of material is everywhere this season. These Sergio Rossi fringe sandals you can get at Intermix.

  1. Cute clutch! But, I have to admit I am not certain I can pull off those shoes.

  2. I am totally digging the awesome, oversize headbands. I gotta get me some.

  3. I don’t think I’m daring enough to go for a fringed vest, but I would totally try the shoes or a fringed bag! I also really love statement necklaces, it totally makes a t-shirt and jeans outfit more exciting.

  4. the statement necklace is tres chic. i like it very much. all of the new footware is a littel scary though!

  5. i’m loving the headband and necklace.. i feel all the rest has already been done, and overdone.

  6. I’m becoming more and more of a fan of the big headbands! I think this one in picture looks exquisite. I definitely need to update the wardrobe for Spring!!!

  7. I like the snakeskin trend but I wouldn’t wear that green thing around my head.
