HomeFeaturesMoms › Scottsdale Quarter Bar is Quite Unique

Rachel Roland is a mom on a mission - exploring beautiful Arizona (and beyond!) with her two little companions, Jeremiah and Sarah, in search of the best restaurants, attractions, and products for you and your children. See what she has in store for your family today!

This isn't your typical Scottsdale bar - while you can certainly sip a white wine or mimosa here, you do it while getting the new must-have treatment for your hair - the Blow Out.  Scottsdale's Drybar specilizes in just those - the chain of blow-dry-only-bars that started by Alli Webb in LA.   Since I needed to look fabulous for the Larry Fitzgerald Fundraiser recently, I decided to give them a try.  The standard blow out (with your choice of look) is $35.

First, a before photo - I almost always wear my hair back.  I know, it's so...mom but it's easy and keeps me cool.   Plus, I don't mind how it looks.   My stylist, Heather, went over all the various styles with me and I decided to go with the 'Straight Up,' which is Drybar's signature style.  I wanted to still look like myself but with a little flair.

First, you get a shampoo and conditioning treatment with a small head and neck massage.  If you want, you can choose to include the "Floater" with your shampoo and conditioner - a 10 minute head and neck massage for an extra $10.  You can also have a 'head shot' which is an extra conditioning treatment for $20.  I love that busy moms can choose these extra pamperings and still have something done in under an hour and for a great price, too.

After your wash, your stylist gets to work while you relax with a little drink, if you choose.  You can read a magazine, watch a movie, or surf on your iPad while getting glammed out.

Here's my final look - you know how you feel after you get your hair cut/colored/etc?  That's how I felt, and it only took a half hour!  I felt fabulous and ready for my event - and even a little relaxed instead of anxious.

The Scottsdale Drybar is located at Scottsdale Quarter, #115.  I heard a rumor that a new Drybar will be opening at 32nd Street and Camelback in early October (I'm definitely looking forward to one a little closer to Central Phoenix!)   As I said, just the wash/blowout is $35, but you can purchase memberships or 'bartabs' where you buy the services in bulk.  And once you visit, I think you'll want to go back.  This is a great spot for busy moms to have a few minutes of pampering and come out looking fabulous.
