Third Annual Larry Fitzgerald Celebrity Server Event at Morton’s The Steakhouse in Scottsdale Raises Record Amount Arizona Cardinals, Valley Residents and Local Celebrities Team up to Raise Money for Fitzgerald’s Charities

Morton’s The Steakhouse hosted the third annual Larry Fitzgerald Celebrity Server Event on Monday, Oct. 3, at the restaurant’s Scottsdale location at Kierland Commons. More than 170 guests, including Cardinals players and their families, local celebrities and media, were in attendance. In total, the event raised $220,000, a record amount for the Morton’s Celebrity Server Series.
 
“Our restaurant was honored to host the Larry Fitzgerald Celebrity Server Event this year,” said John Dos Santos, general manager, Morton’s Scottsdale . “We are proud to support Larry’s charities and exceeded our goal thanks to the generosity of our local community.”

The exclusive event brought together many of the Arizona Cardinals players, including Kevin Kolb, Beanie Wells, Joey Porter,Calais Campbell, Jay Feely, Clark Haggans, Levi Brown, Paris Lenon, Todd Heap and Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt, to serve Morton’s signature cuisine and fine wine to tables of Valley residents. Kurt Warner was also in attendance. A highlight of the evening was the surprise arrival of legend and Arizona resident, Muhammad Ali.
 
“We surpassed my expectations this year, I was amazed to see the level of support shown for two charities I’m very passionate about,” said Fitzgerald. “The money we raised will help families not only in our state, but across the country.”
 
Proceeds from the evening’s live and silent auction, featuring unique sports memorabilia, benefited Fitzgerald’s two charities, the Carol Fitzgerald Memorial Fund, which aims to help victims of AIDS, breast cancer, and other diseases his mother supported, and the Larry Fitzgerald First Down Fund, which supports youth organizations throughout the United States .
  
Title sponsors of the event included Desert Institute for Spine Care and The Starkey Hearing Foundation.
