La Hacienda Spices Up for Cinco de Mayo

Beer Donkey med rez 768x1024

Celebrating the spirit of Mexico with pride, colorful décor, flavorful food, music – and for fun, a beer donkey – La Hacienda is spicing things up for Cinco de Mayo with a party on the plaza, Monday, May 5, 2014.

Recently named the #1 Mexican restaurant in Arizona by AZ Business Magazine for the third consecutive year, La Hacienda is creating a Cinco de Mayo fiesta marketplace with strolling mariachis, a street-style taco cart, a guacamole sampling station, churros fried to order, twinkling lights, streamers of Mexican flags, piñatas and the plaza fountain lit in red and green.

Celebrating is also about sipping, and there’s no shortage of south-of-the-border spirits with 240 selections of tequila presented by Tequila Goddess Abeer Besharieh, who will also offer tequila sampling in the plaza.  Mija, the resort’s beer burro who sports a miniature sombrero, totes a variety of Mexican beer in her satchel and happily poses for photos from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. (In fact, she loves being tagged on Facebook)

In addition to the Cinco de Mayo fiesta marketplace, La Hacienda will serve its regular menu in the restaurant.

La Hacienda is located at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess at 7575 East Princess Drive in Scottsdale.  Admission to the Cinco de Mayo celebration and valet parking are complimentary.  Advance reservations are required for dinner and are available by calling (480) 585-2694. Sierra Boulders-Cactus Shadows Check Presentation Photo

David Kitnick and Rosewood Homes, which had an open house for its new Sierra Boulders community, presented a check for $5,000 to nearby Cactus Shadow High School. Pictured (l. to r.) are: Pete Dale (Superintendent), Aaron Shrock (Rosewood Homes), Nick McKee (Rosewood VP of Operations), Steven Bebee – (Principal of Cactus Shadows High School), David Kitnick (Rosewood Homes President) and Dennis Herrig (Rosewood at Sierra Boulders’ Sales Associate).

Last month, North Scottsdale marked the grand opening of Rosewood at Sierra Boulders, from award-winning builder Rosewood Homes. Rosewood at Sierra Boulders is a unique and limited offering of 15 custom-quality homes set behind a gated entry on generous acre lots. The single-story estates, ranging from 4,100 to 5,050 livable square feet, provide authentic architectural detailing, luxurious standard features and spectacular views. Each three- to five-bedroom residence is appointed with 12-foot beamed ceilings, spa-like master baths, gourmet kitchens, spacious courtyards and disappearing retractable walls of glass for seamless indoor/outdoor living. Environmentally-conscious homeowners will appreciate that these Spanish Colonial, Mediterranean and Tuscan homes are 40 percent more energy efficient than current building code requirements thereby saving homeowners thousands of dollars each year.

“We are proud of this new addition to North Scottsdale,” says David M. Kitnick, a second-generation contractor and founder of Rosewood Homes. “Our new estate series at Sierra Boulders represent the finest in new home construction and the culmination of decades of effort.” “Each home has been passionately designed and carefully crafted to enhance the surroundings and provide life-long memories.”
