Ashley LeMieux, a recent Arizona State University graduate, started The Shine Project to motivate people to take control of their lives and go after their goals. Her blog, www.ashlemieux.blogspot.
The Shine Project was expanded to offline audiences by organizing service projects in different cities to get more people involved. From doing a clothing drive for a domestic violence shelter for women and children in downtown Phoenix, to adopting and cleaning Mission Beach in San Diego, many have felt the affects of SHINE.
In July, the CHANGE FOR CHANGE fundraiser will be kicking off. Jars will be distributed throughout Arizona, and the rest of the country for people to put their change in. They will then cash in their change, and submit the money to the Shine Project. All money raised will go into the scholarship fund that will contribute to the SHINE Fundraiser Event in October. The fundraiser is a silent auction/party, with all proceeds benifiting the fund to make a fundamental impact in the lives of children.
