EXTRA EXTRA!

Christian Louboutin is a hot little potato right now.

The luxury shoe designer sued Yves Saint Laurent yesterday for more than $1 million in damages because the brand used a red sole on several styles of shoes. YSL's red-soled Tribute, Tribtoo, Palais and Woodstock styles typically cost less than Louboutin's shoes (which range from $450 to $3,500). Louboutin created his red soles for the first time by paining red polish on the bottoms of his black pumps- a signature move he later trademarked.

The shoes in question are sold at Saks Fifth Avenue, Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus.
