There is now a unique concept for locals who love to run–and a delectable brunch. bRUNch Running hosts its official Arizona launch on Jan. 5 at North on N. 40th St. Founded in Denver, bRUNch Running has created a presence in the community with a mission that promotes good health, fitness and local businesses. Participants will meet, enjoy a run and then savor a yummy brunch. bRUNch Running’s first event will take bRUNchers along the Arizona Canal Trail.
“The Phoenix Valley has a great food, craft libations and fitness culture,” says Alexandra Weissner, co-founder of bRUNch Running. “These make it the perfect location for bRUNch.” The Phoenix group will meet Sundays January through April. Each week the group will start at a different metro Phoenix restaurant, returning there at the end of the run to enjoy an all-inclusive brunch. The group always offers both a 5 and 10K route options.
bRUNch’s first Phoenix stop is North on North 40th Street.
The menu for this bRUNch includes:
Baked French Toast – vanilla maple syrup, fresh fruit
Egg Scramble – spinach, mushroom, asparagus, zucchini, white cheddar
Frittata – braised greens, potatoes, smoked mozzarella, arugula, grilled bread
Nonna – two fried eggs, baked red sauce, torn bread, Italian sausage
Short Rib Hash – two fried eggs, grilled bread
The Red Rooster – Smirnoff vodka, spiced tomato, averna amaro, lime, caprese
Perfect Bellini – smashed orange, peach puree, sparkling wine
San Tan “Epicenter”
Four Peaks “Kilt Lifter”
Four Peaks “Hop Knot” IPA
“Running and brunch were made for each other,” says Weissner. “After a run you need a balanced meal of protein, carbs and sugar to replenish your body for its hard work. With bRUNch we make sure your body gets that reward.”
The second bRUNch Running event is slated for O.H.S.O. Eatery + nanoBrewery on Jan. 12. Tickets are on sale now for $25. A percentage of profits of bRUNch Phoenix will go to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix. http://brunchrunning.com/.
