A typical day in my life includes…

rising before the sun comes up, grabbing a cup of coffee, watching the day dawn from my window, connecting with my source, burning a little sage, then going to my computer, writing my book. I have been laser focused and devoted to my book for 17 years. The heART of The Matter offers fresh insight into creation and the origin of the universe from a maternal perspective, a new pair of eyes.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

the diverse landscape and the range of colors that it brings; the purplish hue of the mountains, the earthy beige of the desert, the hot pink of a prickly pear blooming.

I’m listening to…

my theme song these days in preparation for “the heART show” which is Offenbach _Barcarolle,  from the “Tales of the Hoffmann”. Exhilarating, amps up my frequency, makes my spirit soar.

My family…

is very small now. My daughters live at opposite ends of the country. A year ago I moved into Mesa Artspace Lofts, housing for artists and musicians. It is incredible living with kindred spirits that I relate to, my new relatives. We are family, supporting and encouraging each other.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

to be honest, can’t think of anyone off the top of my head. I love my meals with friends. Only thing is, just like chewing gum, I can’t eat and talk at the same time.

One thing I cannot live without…

inspiration. Without my art I would be a lost soul, I am an artist at heart.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

I never gave any thought to what I wanted to be. Being an artist was a given, I have been an artist from the beginning, ever since I picked up a crayon.

I’m inspired by…

nature, music and OSHO a huge proponent of women, the heart and creativity. Don’t believe everything you read. Those that grate against our indoctrination, go against the grain of societal norms are scorned.

The one person who motivates me is…

my daughter, Amy. She has been my biggest supporter when it comes to my book, my labor of love.  About 7 years into the book I was ready to quit, she told me I couldn’t!

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

to start a new trend,  encourage people to stop playing follow the leader and follow their hearts and be true to themselves. Participating in archaic, patriarchal, monetized control systems has robbed us of our freedom to think for ourselves. We are born genius, yet we tithe to be told what to believe, we pay taxes to be taught what to think and be told what to do – go to school, go to war…we have sold our souls without even realizing we have been bought.  One heart at a time, people are awakening, becoming conscious of the bill of goods we have been sold.

The perfect day would be…

today!  Seize the moment, do what you love. Become a trendsetter, follow your heart, embark on the pathless path, that is when the magic begins!

My first job was…

a soda jerk, working at the fountain in Deephaven drugstore in Minnetonka, MN.

My favorite escape…

the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert.

My life…

is amazing, everything is falling into place. My years of praying, to me ”networking” with Grace, the mother of creation, the subject of my book is paying off, my dreams are coming true!

I’m currently working on…

finishing up my book, curating and creating art for “the heART show”, which will be held in the lovely gallery where I live at Mesa Artspace Lofts on October 4 & 5.

Always…

persist.

Never…

give up, persistence and patience pay off!

Favorite Quote…

“For a time, I rest in the grace of the world and I am free.”

Biggest Dream…

to have a mother daughter show. Come join my daughter Amy and I at the heart show, October 4 and 5.  We are delighted to have painter, Travis Ivey and jeweler, Fulani Malik who are residents at Artspace at our artXtravaganza!

My Pet Peeve(s)…

conversational narcissists.
