Foundress Friday: Meet Kimberly Mitchell, Co-owner & President at Home With Help

Home With Help is a locally owned, Scottsdale-based home care agency making a meaningful impact across the metro area. For over 10 years, co-owner and President Kimberly Mitchell has led the company with heart, building a team of over 200 caregivers who specialize in non-medical, in-home care for the elderly and people with disabilities.

From personal care and companionship to dementia support and respite for families, Home With Help helps people live safely and comfortably at home.

AZF: What is your “life motto”?

Live with purpose, lead with heart, and always make room for grace.

As a woman-owned business deeply rooted in the community, I am also a passionate advocate for aging with dignity, actively involved in organizations like Foundress, AZNHA, NAWBO, and the Alzheimer’s Association. With a focus on consistency, compassion, and quality care, Home With Help is proud to support Arizona families through every stage of the aging journey.

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?

No, I didn’t always know I was going to be an entrepreneur. In fact, owning a business wasn’t something I had planned – but buying Home With Help truly fell into our lap at the perfect time. It was one of those moments where everything aligned, and my husband took a leap of faith.

What started as an unexpected opportunity quickly turned into a passion and purpose. I realized early on that I loved leading with heart, building a team, and creating something that truly impacts people’s lives. Entrepreneurship has shaped me and given me the chance to serve others in a deeply meaningful way – and I’m so grateful we said yes.

AZF: How do you feel best supported?

I feel best supported when I’m surrounded by people who are dependable and show up with integrity, like I try to do for them. Whether it’s my team, my family, or my community, I value people who are willing to walk alongside me, not just cheer from the sidelines. Support, to me, means someone who listens, understands the weight of leadership, and isn’t afraid to offer help, encouragement, or even a reality check when needed. I’m grateful every day for the incredible circle of women and professionals around me who remind me that I don’t have to do it all alone, and that showing up with heart matters.

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?

What motivates me to keep going – even through the tough moments – is knowing that the work we do truly matters. Every challenge is worth it when I think about the families who trust us to care for their loved ones, and the caregivers who feel seen, supported, and valued because of the culture we’ve built at Home With Help.

There are definitely hard days as an entrepreneur, but I’m driven by the impact we’re making and the incredible people I get to work alongside. I also find motivation in connecting with other women business owners and leaders who understand the ups and downs. Being part of a community that lifts each other up makes all the difference. At the end of the day, it’s about staying focused on your purpose and knowing that what you’re building is helping others.

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.

Spin class, then boxing, getting a massage, then heading to the beach with the family.

AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?

One piece of advice I’d give to a young entrepreneur is this: put yourself in rooms with people who are smarter than you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, learn from others, and surround yourself with mentors and peers who challenge and inspire you. You grow the most when you’re open to learning and willing to admit you don’t have all the answers.

AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?

What excites me most about being an entrepreneur is the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives, in our community, and in the way care is delivered. Owning Home With Help has allowed me to combine my heart for service with a mission-driven business that empowers seniors to age with dignity in their own homes. I love building relationships, supporting our incredible team of caregivers, and creating a company culture rooted in compassion and consistency.

As a woman in business, I’m also passionate about lifting up other women entrepreneurs and showing that you can lead with both strength and heart. Every day brings new challenges, but also new chances to grow, serve, and lead with purpose, and that’s what keeps me inspired.
