Foundress Friday: Meet Molly Zahn, Founder of Molly Zahn Social Media LLC

Molly Zahn Social Media was born simply: by printing 100 business cards and starting an Instagram page. With no formal professional experience, Founder Molly Zahn decided to dive into the world of social media marketing.

“It was a bold move, but I was driven, eager to learn, and determined to teach myself how to build a business while helping other entrepreneurs shine online,” she said. “That was in 2018. Since then, I’ve transformed my passion into a thriving business. Along the way, I sold my book of business due to burnout, but I didn’t stop there.”

She’s since evolved into a jack of all trades, from shooting and editing content to crafting brand strategies, curating viral social media feeds, and coaching others on how to harness their unique strengths to stand out in the digital world.

“At the core of my business is a tailored approach, ensuring each client’s social media truly reflects who they are. It’s a process that’s as unique as the individuals I work with, and that’s exactly how I want it. My clients don’t just feel like they’re getting a service, they feel like they’re being represented authentically and powerfully,” Molly said.

AZF: What is your “life motto”?

“You know what to do.” Over the course of my years in business (and being a human on Earth), I have learned time and time again that my gut is never wrong. My intuition has consistently guided me in a number of directions, and only when I have resisted is when things have felt inauthentic.

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?

I had absolutely no direction in regard to my career. I was notoriously lost when it came to this aspect of my life. It is a big reason I never finished college. I couldn’t work toward something when I didn’t know what that something was. However, the moment that I started my business I knew I was building something that was absolutely meant for me. It was the first time in my life I felt seen. And not just by others, but I was seeing myself for the first time! I realized I had been sitting on my untapped potential for far too long.

AZF: How do you feel best supported?

This is tough, because it depends. If it is after a bad day, I feel best supported when my best friends comfort me in the group chat while I cuddle with my doggies on the couch! When it comes to my business I feel best supported when I feel like I am being cheered on, or rooted for. I have overcome a lot in my life, and the support from my friends and family has been a huge reason I have been able to navigate all of those different challenges.

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?

My peace and happiness, honestly. If you were to ask me this five years ago, I would have said proving people wrong about me and what I am capable of. However, I feel like I have reached a point in my life where I have nothing to prove. I know who I am, I know what I can do, and what keeps me happy and motivated is filling up my cup with things that bring me joy!

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.

I would start off strong with an early morning walk with my dogs! Followed by a hot yoga class, an iced latte, and a trip to the farmers market in Old Town Scottsdale. After that, you can catch me picking up fresh flowers, making a light breakfast and playing golf with my boyfriend.

AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?

Just start. You don’t always need some master plan. If you start, you learn, and when you learn it gets easier. Just freakin’ go for it and be present.

AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?

The constant opportunity to learn and grow as a business owner, and as a person. Entrepreneurship is challenging but it is also such a gift. I feel like I have the freedom to constantly evolve, and as someone who doesn’t fear change, you can see why this would be exciting for me!
