AZF: What is your “life motto”?

Progress not perfection is the sweet spot.

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?

My dad started a business, so I watched some pretty awesome role models growing up. I always knew I wanted to lead and use my voice for a good purpose. I worked in a corporate setting for over 12 years. I started to realize I was just a cog in the machine. I did not feel I could truly make an impact. The final nudge to starting my own business was giving birth to my son. I know it sounds crazy that I decided then to do it. I wanted my life to be mine, dictated by me, and to own my destiny to show up for him better.

AZF: How do you feel best supported?

With community. I feel best when I am lucky enough to be in a room of people willing to share their stories and lessons with me. I also feel best supported with systems and process.

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?

My family. They are a huge driver for me. I want my son to realize anything is possible. I want him to see that working hard is cool. I get told no – a lot – but I know a yes is just around the corner. It is hard some days when business ownership feels like the worlds exploding. I stay grounded in the big picture.

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.

Wake up and go on a donut or bagel date with my toddler. Have some lay around time. Then do something outside or in nature together. Surround myself with people I love while my phone is on DND.

AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?

Keep going. Lean on your people. Be open to putting yourself out there and meet people. Root yourself in your greater vision and your purpose. CELEBRATE THE WINS and allow yourself to move through the tough. Don’t be afraid to pivot.

AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?

I get to wake up everyday and help people. I do what I love. I learn something new everyday and have had to push myself to keep learning and evolving. I get to set my own rules and empower people along the way.
