The desire for tranquility, strength and optimism lead Pantone’s selection of 10 standout shades.

Pantone looks at the current culture climate to determine its color selections and pairings. The color stories for fall “transcend gender” and “act as playful but structured departures from your more typical fall shades.”

Leading the lineup are two hues of blue – Riverside, a cool and calming shade that displays a subtle vibrancy while maintaining consistency, and Airy Blue, a light and free color evocative of its name.

Sharkskin, a neutral grey, follows and is contrasted with the warm and vibrant Aurora Red, which “gets the metaphorical blood of the palette pumping.”

Warm Taupe brings things back to neutral while Dusty Cider nods to Pantone’s Color of the Year, Rose Quartz.

Lush Meadow is a new color to the Pantone family in a bright emerald green that harkens fresh botanicals and foliage.

Finally, jewel tones Spicy Mustard, Potter’s Clay and Bodacious, another new addition, round out the fall palette.
