Want to rock the most luscious locks for fall?  Check out one of Scottsdale's most elite salon, offering A-list services to all Valley vixens.

It’s not a cut; it’s an experience.

My hair was craving some much needed TLC, after surviving major summertime pool damage.  I’m sure I’m not the only one who wanted re-vamped rich locks for fall, so I turned to Diva Diana at Scottsdale Fashion Square’s 2BU Aveda Salon—one of the four Aveda lifestyle salons in Arizona.

I walked into the full-service salon neighboring Barneys, but once inside, I completely forgot I was in the Valley’s upscale shopping mall.  I arrived to a welcome committee immediately offering water, tea, or wine—you can guess which I opted for on that Friday afternoon.  After a brief tour of the green salon, I took a seat at Diana’s station.

Before I continue, let me explain the pride 2BU’s Scottsdale owner RJ put into creating her haven of pampering.  The mother of 5 runs a tight ship, making sure all her girls act with the utmost scale of professionalism.  The salon is spotless, flaunting live plants, LEED-certified flooring, and VOC-free paint.  (It’s quite organic.)  Clients have the choice to read a magazine or surf the web—the place offers free wi-fi computers for free.  It’s the go-to salon for numerous celebs, especially A-list Valley athletes.  RJ, formally Ms. Arizona Teen and Mrs. Scottsdale, says you get what you pay for at 2BU…and I must agree.

Going back to Diva Diana, a very fitting nickname courtesy of her colleagues.  The warm and wonderful woman has been in the hair biz more than 30 years, and is a self-proclaimed pro at her work of art.  The moment I sat down at her station, she began the Aveda ritual, starting with an instructed deep breath in and out of a yummy aromatherapy blend.  That refreshing scent was followed by a scalp massage, and trust me, it felt damn good.

After mixing my color (I wanted to go chocolate brown), we had a happy exchange of friendly conversation as she worked her hair magic.  We became instant friends—she was so easy and fun to talk to!  I also learned our diva friend is known for her beautiful bridal up-dos…perfect for any bride-to-be, including myself.

While my color processed, one of Diana’s assistants Ashley gave my hands and arms a delightful massage.  Who would have thought a simple hair color and cut would turn into a day at the spa?

The final step of my “do” was Diana’s amazing blow-dry, but my afternoon at 2BU was far from over.  I then got a complimentary make-over from Erin—a freebie for all clients getting a hair service.  (And if you get a mani/pedi, you also walk away with the polish—for free.)

And during my stint at the salon, Diana dished all about fall trends.  She says rich is in—chocolates, reds, and warm blonds.  As for styles, bangs are supposedly the must-try, and of course you can never go wrong with long, luscious locks.  Erin gave me the scoop on make-up trends…autumn is perfect for deep purple eye-shadow and simple lips.  She suggests choosing which area of the face you want to “pop;” if you go big on the eyes, do a lighter lip color and vice-versa.  It’s also suggested you add some light yellowy white to the corner of your inner eye-lids for a wow-factor.

I’m sure reading this makes opting for some personal pampering quite tempting, so 2BU is offering “On the Scene” readers a little something special.  Check out the salon for yourself…mention “Nadine,” and receive $25 a hair treatment.  Call for details: (480) 994-0004.
