Want to flaunt the perfect summertime look?  Check out these must-do beauty tips!

Less is more—that’s the key to a fab summertime look.  Just ask Haley Cook, head make-up artist at Scottsdale’s V Spot Salon.

“Look like yourself, but better,” said the former MAC artist.

Cook has been doing make-up more than five years, and now she showcases her talent in the heart of Old Town’s 5th Avenue Shopping District.  You can find the young woman working her skills at the savvy V Spot, a hot hub for primping and pampering.

Her specialty is airbrushing: a water-based, hypoallergenic make-up machine that provides full, flawless coverage lasting up to 16 hours.

“It’s an excellent option for brides.  You can cry, dance—do just about anything and the make-up won’t smudge,” she said.

But since most of us can’t fork out the $65+ to get a daily airbrush dose, Cook is dishing her secrets to make-up maneuvering 101.

“The biggest problem I is people not wearing the right colors.”

Cook says far too many girls are looking rather orange these days, yearning to flaunt a fake tan.  Instead, she suggests matching your face to your inner-arm or neck skin-color, then using a bronzer to highlight your cheeks.

“Make sure to blend well.”

And when it comes to your eyes, consider using colors that make your peepers pop.

According to Cook, green eyed-gals should stick with purples and pinks; blue-eyed babes should go with gold or copper; and brown-eyes beauties should opt for light and dark silver.

“Eye-liner can be worn on both the bottom and top of the lid if you have almond-shaped eyes; otherwise, just line the bottom.”

You’ll also want to highlight under the brow-bone using a lighter shade like cream or nylon.  This should be followed by a darker color coating the crease of your lid.

For summer, Cook recommends going light, bright, smoky.  Trendy retro styles are coming back too.

“Pair dark eye-liner with red lips.”

Or consider sticking with nude tones for the lips, offering something more simple and subtle.

To take a face from day to night, Cook says just add more color and drastic eye-liner.  Also, keep Cook’s top three must-have items in tow: lip-gloss, mascara, and blush.

You can treat yourself to a V-Spot make-over starting at $35 for the eyes, and exceeding $55 for the whole face.  And stay tuned for future make-up classes.  The V Spot plans on offering how-to courses so you can secure the perfect summertime look.
