Recently, the Phoenix Dream Center was featured in Arizona Foothills Magazine's September issue because 10 of the Valley's finest interior designers helped re-design rooms for girls and women who've escaped the horrors of human trafficking.  Even more recently, the Phoenix Dream Center (a faith based organization) announced a partnership with Revelation Wellness, a Phoenix-based non-profit that promote health and wellness through faith-based fitness and nutrition classes.  This partnership will focus on the young men and women who come to the Phoenix Dream Center after timing out of the foster care system. Thankfully, they will find a home for a year with the Phoenix Dream Center, and through the new collaboration with Revelation Wellness, they will receive fitness instruction, as well as the opportunity to learn about nutrition and healthy living.

I had the chance to speak to both Megan McKeever, who represents the Phoenix Dream Center, and Alisa Keeton, who represents Revelation Wellness about this exciting new partnership - what inspired them, what their hopes for the program are, and what YOU can do to help!

What inspired you to form a relationship between the Phoenix Dream Center and Revelation Wellness?

Megan McKeever (Dream Center):  "I was invited to the class a few weeks back by three lovely ladies who came and toured the Phoenix Dream Center. I commited to go and Wow what a REVELATION I got.  I was welcomed immediately walking into the class with many smiles and hello's...I wasn't focused solely on the natural part of the session; but my mind and Spirit were set on the bigger and deeper things and as a result JOY came."

Alisa Keeton (Revelation Wellness): "At Revelation Wellness we believe the sole reason God calls us to live healthy and whole lives in Him is so we are ready to give that same love away to others. Our hope is to mobilize the body of Christ to live the life they were created for; and according to Jesus that is to love others, not just in words but also in action. Like the founder of the Dream Center, Tommy Barnett says "Find a need and fill it. Find a hurt and heal it." We couldn't agree more. "

What do you hope will come from your partnership?

Megan: "I desire for the Foster Care Young Adults to experience healthy, whole lives... for this to become their LIFESTYLE.  To see the benefit and blessings of taking care of the body and how you can spiritually be changed through that process.. Changed from the inside out."

Alisa: "Through our partnership with The Dream Center we hope to make a difference!  We believe that God is at work at The Dream Center and we hope other faith communities begin to understand that there is great blessing in getting comfortable being uncomfortable."

This is a great partnership - where these young adults who've never had the chance to have a permanent home will not only have a home with the Dream Center but also will be attending fitness classes and possibly even gaining mentors who can help them through this transitional time in their lives.

If you want to help the Phoenix Dream Center, you can do so - when I asked Megan what anyone can do - anyone who's feeling inspired to help: "Our building is over 40 years old and needs some TLC if you know what I mean. From top to bottom from people to buildings we have needs. If you can help with manual labor, decorating, interior design, construction, office duties, donations, fundraising, campaigning, cleaning, mentoring, cooking, landscaping, painting, mechanics, maintenance, plumbing and electrical and anything you are created to do is NEEDED at the Phoenix Dream Center."  You can also partner with Revelation Wellness, too!
