If you visited Scottsdale's Fashion Square Mall this weekend, you'd find it difficult to ignore the huge stage in the middle of the food court. Or the thumping, rhythmic music coming from that stage. Or the swarms of glam MAC artists inhabiting it. On a recent visit, I just had to find out what was going on - let me introduce you to MAC's Styleseeker Event!
Although it seemed intimidating, it was a great opportunity for Sarah and I to spend some 'mom/daughter' time together - and for this busy mom to get a few makeup tips as well as a lovely mini-makeover from my personal MAC artist, Melissa. What I loved was that no one looked at me funny or questioned me when I brought Sarah up to the stage with me - or when she sat on my lap - I can only imagine the atmosphere in the MAC store at Scottsdale Fashion Square is just as mom-friendly!
Melissa helped me by showing me how to apply the (gorgeous) new fall shades of MAC"s new line of makeup, Styleseeker. She gave me tips on what would most flatter my blue eyes (toffee and copper tones) and helped me with where to apply each shade of eye shadow - I'm sure I've been taught before, but being a busy mom can kind of interfere with remembering what goes where. After she finished and handed me the list of products she'd used (so I could visit the MAC store afterwards), we were offered to take a photo for our "Style Passports.' Unfortunately, Sarah was a touch shy and quite intimated by the gorgeous models in very vivid colors and world-wanderer styled hair - which I found gorgeous and such a lovely touch for the event!
