Wednesday night, we were fortunate enough to be invited to Cirque Du Soleil: Dralion and it definitely was an unforgettable experience. With this show as one of the most anticipated events of the year, here's what to expect from the show, without giving too much away. 

One thing that you learn from going to a Cirque show is that you are going to be amazed no matter which show you attend. Cirque Du Soleil is a global phenomenon that can be seen all across the world. The company illustrates this through its employees and artists, which represent more than 50 nationalities and 25 different languages.

Dralion, a combination of the dragon and lion references the influence of Eastern and Western culture. The story of Dralion, uses "inspiration from Eastern philosophy and it's never ending quest for harmony between humans and nature."  

The evening is opened by a humorous statement from characters that make an appearance off and on throughout the night. They're unexpected and unusual, and at times communicate through sparse movement and action along with sounds of gibberish. Each Cirque show has these memorable characters, and once you see them, you'll know exactly who they are. 

Dralion is comprised of several different acts that feature sheer artistry that are jaw-dropping and mind boggling for audiences, while appearing easy, and at times effortless. The fact that the defying acts are done so gracefully is a true testament to the strength and skill that each performer possess. At times, their work is so amazing that instead of an expected applause, the crowd is brought to silence in such disbelief.
