What was your inspiration to become a deejay?

Growing up in Philly definitely played a part in inspiring me because of it’s huge music culture and music history surrounding the city.

Ryan Best, tell our readers how you started your career?

I guess you can say now looking back that my career started in high school when I was just making the mix tapes for the parties people had, at least that was the beginning of me entertaining people through music, and then about 1997 I started DJ-ing in Philly and in 2002 I moved to LA where I have been building my name since.

Was there a role model you looked up to as you made your way up the industry? How did he/she help?

I didn't, so to speak, have a role model that helped me climb the ranks etc. but I definitely looked up to the local Philly DJs such as Jazzy Jeff and many, many more, also just listening to them pushed me to be a better DJ.

You made a television debut as a club DJ on HBO's hit series "Entourage," how was that different from your everyday job? Aside from the "Entourage," have you made any other TV appearances?

The Entourage filming just consisted of me playing the same song over and over for hours for the extras to dance to for the particular scene and was in no way a comparison to a regular night of DJ-ing. I have been on a handful of reality shows, “The Hills,” “Meet the Barkers,” all of Paris Hilton’s Shows, and also a movie with Hilary Duff, Sean Astin, Chevy Chase etc., called "Stay Cool".

You've been mentioned in many top publications across the US, what is it like to see your name listed with top celebrities?

It's very humbling to see my face and name next to some of the biggest celebrities in the world.

As your name becomes more and more popular how do you stay connected with clients and fans you meet along the way?

I stay connected with my clients and fans with emails and through social media and also with the help of my amazing management that keeps me organized as well as staying on top of my relationships.

Any new projects you’re working on?

My production partner, DJ Spider, and I have been making music and producing remixes for major label artists for the lastfive years and we have been working on new remixes that we will be releasing in the coming months.

Where do you see yourself ten years from now?

In ten years I see myself still involved in the music biz but the major focus will be on the production and music supervision for TV, film, radio, hotels etc. and I will have some other business ventures not related to music.

Any additional thoughts you'd like to add?
