With just seven days until the Dream Rooms will be completed, the team is charging down the final stretch at a pace that would be sure to secure a Gold Medal in this year’s Summer Olympics. The event? The Team Relay.

Indeed, true to the spirit of the Dream Rooms Project, this competition has proved to be the work of many individuals working together to make one dream a reality.  From the designers, to the plumbers, to the framers, the sentiment was best stated by Jon Ard of Saguaro Drywall “It is an absolute honor to labor with this wonderful group of like-minded, dedicated people who are putting their vision, resources, energy and hearts into this project.”  For Ard, the decision to become part of the Dream Room Project was simple…”We realized this was a great chance to make a difference in the lives of young women caught in the shocking world of human trafficking and exploitation that goes under the Radar in the Valley. ”Ard, the President of Saguaro Drywall, a provider of custom residential and commercial drywall services to the Valley for almost 60 years, donated all interior drywall labor and materials to the project, in addition to Venetian plaster in two Dream Rooms. Saguaro went the second mile when they offered to repair the ceilings outside the rooms.

Susan Golka, one of the visionaries behind Golka Electric, a full service electrical firm specializing in lighting and lighting control systems here in the Valley, speaks to the power of a unified vision. “I believe so much can be accomplished with a vision and a group effort. This project is no exception. Even if a project seems very large at first, don’t be afraid to tackle it.” And large it was. But tackled it is. Through the donation of labor and materials for all of the electrical power and lighting by Golka Electric for the Dream Rooms designed by Ownby Design, Palm Design Group, Oz Architects/Interiors, Janet Brooks Design, and Overstreet Interiors, the vision took yet another step closer to becoming reality.  Indeed, when I walk into the rooms, it is hard to believe the metamorphosis that has taken place.  Mark it on your calendars:  April 18th. The day that the Dream Rooms will be revealed and you will be able to vote on which room tickles your fancy the most.

Sharing the same vision was also key for Butch Decker, CEO ofAJ Decker Construction. “We share the same heart and we are more than happy to be able to use our business trade and skills to help such a needed cause. Indeed, it’s always a good feeling to be able to help in any way and this is certainly no exception.” AJ Decker Construction, who specializes in framing and all levels of rough carpentry, donated labor and materials for all rough carpentry for walls and ceilings for the Dream Rooms designed by Treken Design, Vallone Design, Amelia Kizerian, TM Design, and Karen Rapp Interiors, to help bring this project to completion.

The Team Relay is on the final leg of the race. There is still much to complete in the next week, but with each member of the team working so hard to run the race well, there is no doubt that the results will be record setting.
