A Place in the Sun

Summer is almost over. Can you believe it?
This summer, I made an escape to Idaho and Montana. People say to get out of the heat, but I love Arizona and the heat. This summer, I saw many more people staying back and making shorter trips. When you arrive in Idaho, it is an escape from everything and is so all-American. It just reminded me of the great country we live in. This is my favorite place to take kids and be a kid again, myself. We started on Lake Coeur d’Alene tubing, followed by a pirate cruise for kids that is very interactive. Next, we headed to my favorite amusement park, Silverwood. This place is cleaner and packed with more fun than Disneyland, like a train ride where the train gets stopped and held up in the forest by bandits. Yes, I was a kid again but that is how I live my life—being a kid and having fun. My vacation got even better with a drive to Montana and a walk among the treetops. I am scared of heights but I walked on a wooden bridge with swinging ropes like I was in an Indiana Jones movie. I was nearly 900 feet above ground, and I loved it. The best part of this was spending time experiencing new things with my family. Having a son is the best thing in my life, and we love exploring the outdoors.
After our summer break, it’s time to gear up for the start of school and head back to our normal routine. This fall looks promising with many of the chairmen and chairwomen working this summer on all the fundraisers and events. Everyone is getting a little more creative on how to raise funds and make things happen. I liked hearing their ideas and thanks for sharing them with us. We will be launching a new section on AZFoothills.com this September titled AZ Social. You will be updated on the latest gossip, events, photos, breakups and make-ups and real estate news. You will not want to miss it.
For now, need to know where to go, shop, spa and meet the people we love in Arizona?
Check out AZFoothills.com and become a friend on Facebook.

See you this fall and welcome back!
