HomeFeaturesBuzz › Planning a Perfect Wedding Day

If I could plan a perfect wedding, it would involve an excited bride and groom, a perfect timeline, a great planner, a fabulous videographer, and of course an creative photographer.  All these elements will help a bride and groom walk away from their wedding feeling confident their day went smoothly and that everything was documented to remember. These are just a few things I feel are important when planning your wedding.

See your wedding as an investment not just a party. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but if you have the right vendors to help you, the day will run smoothly and you will be left with perfect memories on film and video.  I often hear a bride say that she wishes she had spent more money on photography because that’s all she had left after the wedding day. I encourage brides to see their wedding photos as an investment for life rather than just a one-day event.  You WILL look back on your photos and so will your family for the rest of your life.  Why not be excited about your wedding photographer and videographer? After the wedding day is over,  it will have been worth the investment.

The most important connection for a wedding photographer and a bride and groom is building trust. Building trust begins at the first consultation. It is important for me to know my bride and groom’s on a more personal level, so that I’m able to pull their true personalities out on film. Creating a relationship with each vendor can really help a bride and groom completely trust their vendor’s talents and abilities.  In the end, the product and the day will be more enjoyable.

Create a stress free timeline for your wedding day. A wedding day schedule is extremely important to achieve GREAT photographs. When looking for a photographer, make sure your photographer cares just as much about your photos as you do. I look at photography as an art. Sometimes, we as photographers need to take a step back and look at the venue, the light, the couple, and evaluate these factors to take a great photograph. You wouldn't expect a painter to paint a fabulous painting in 15 minutes would you? It's the same for us. We need time to paint a great photograph. TIME produces the best photographs and TIME is what allows everyone to take a slow breath in and out and enjoy the day while taking photos. YOU are the most important piece of the day and you deserve to take time for images you'll have forever.

Investing in the photographer and videographer that you love, building trust with your vendors, and creating a stress free timeline will hopefully create a smooth wedding day for you AND your guests.
