On April 26, the D-backs unveiled the new Move It! Exhibit at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix. D-backs president and CEO Derrick Hall and pitcher J.J. Putz participated in the ribbon cutting. The baseball-themed outdoor exhibit is located in the front yard of the museum along 7th Street, only one block away from Chase Field, and is a space for children to learn through play and movement. The design and use of repurposed materials invites active exploration, imaginative play and thought-provoking discoveries as well as physical activity of both fine and gross motor skills. Elements of the exhibit include the Willie Maze, Diamond, Dugout, Snake and the Bases that incorporate baseball-themed items. The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation donated $100,000 to the Children’s Museum of Phoenix as part of their annual Grand Slam Grants program, making Move It! possible.
