We get a lot of questions from Dog Days of Summer dog owners and observers.  Here are some Frequently Asked Questions and their answers.

Q. Where can I vote?

Right here!  http://www.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com/dog-days-of-summer-2013.html

Q. Is it too late to enter my dog?

This happens every year.  Once the contest starts people start to notice it more and more people want to enter!  That's great, but we have to stop taking entries sometime. If you didn't attend a casting call, then the web entrants deadline was July 30th.  But, we plan on doing another one next year so make sure you check AZFoothills.com for next year's casting call dates.  Sign up for our e-newsletters to make sure you hear about our contests, as well as a lot of other great things going on in the Valley that you're probably missing out on!

Q. I tried to register my e-mail address to vote, but I never received the e-mail to verify it.  Did I do something wrong?

If you received the message that the e-mail was sent, then it was definitely sent.  However, e-mails do seem to get caught in cyberspace on occassion.  Sometimes they just show up late, and a lot of times they get caught in spam filters.  Make sure you check your spam folder or whitelist the domain "arizonafoothillsmagazine.com" or add This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to your contacts list.  If none of that works, send us an e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it from the e-mail address you're trying to register and we'll get you set up.

Q. I got logged out and I deleted the e-mail that had the password to log back in.  What do I do?

No problem!  Just enter your e-mail address where you did the first time to register your e-mail and it will send you another copy of the e-mail.

Q. Does the dog with the most votes win?

Not quite.  The five dogs in each category with the most votes will be judged by a panel of dog lovers with keen eyes for dog awesomeness.  You can view the official rules here.  What will they be judged on?  That's up to the judges!  But if we had to guess it's probably petability, musical barking skills, bow staff skills, evening wear and/or bladder control.  Again, that's not official.
