Q.) Do the most popular procedures nationwide align with what is most popular in the Valley?

A.) Excellent question. As you know, the Valley is made up of a large and diverse community. Because of this, the demand from and influence of the people and surgeons in the Valley for cosmetic procedures usually aligns with the cutting edge plastic surgery options available in the rest of the country. Breast shaping (breast implants and breast lift), nose shaping (rhinoplasty), tummy tuck surgery (abdominoplasty), and liposuction are still some of the most common plastic surgery procedures in the Valley and nation wide.

Q.) What are the newest procedures that replicate weight loss? What are the most effective procedures to replicate weight loss?

A.) This is an important question for most patients seeking body contouring surgery. Technically, plastic surgery offers body contouring or body shaping procedures. These include both invasive and non-invasive options such as:

-liposuction surgery

-coolsculpting

-tummy tuck surgery

-bra line back lift surgery

-lower body lift surgery

-thigh lift surgery

-arm lift surgery

-breast reduction

All of these procedures remove skin and fat (except Coolsculpting which removes fat only) so technically there is a “weight reduction”. However, the procedures are really body contouring options and no plastic surgery procedure is designed for or should be considered as a weight loss procedure. The actual weight loss procedures are called bariatric surgery procedures and involve some type of intra-abdominal surgery to make the patient feel full faster. These include:

-gastric band

-gastric sleeve

-gastric bypass

All the best,
