Age: 50

Title: CEO of Hawkeye Electric

Married/Single: Married

Kids: Sam, a four-legged German Shepard/Coyote mix who protects my wife very well.

City you live in: Gilbert, AZ

A typical day in my life includes…

I wake up around 3:00 a.m., take Sam for a walk, eat breakfast, watch Fox and Friends and head to work by five. I’m usually the first person in the door and the last to close the office. I try to lead our employees by example – work hard, head home and spend the rest of your day with family. In my case, it’s my wife and dog. We love cooking or going out to dinner, spending time listening to live music and attending or watching sports.

I was born…

Fort Dodge, Iowa.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

the weather. I’ll take the heat in lieu of the cold in Iowa.

I’m listening to…

Fox and Friends and Sports Center.

My family…

includes my beautiful wife Judy of 15 years, Sam and a very special brother. I joined Big Brothers Big Sisters in 1996 where I was fortunate enough to meet Paul, who was eight years old. I became a mentor to him and he became a huge part of our life for the past 22 years. I’m lucky to have Judy, Paul, my sister Annie part of the 185 great employees that make up “Team Hawk”. My experience with Paul showed me how powerful giving back to the community is. Now, I am a member of the Chandler Compadres, a nonprofit organization with the sole mission of providing support for East Valley families in need by donating our time, resources, talents and money to help disadvantaged kids.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

Larry Fitzgerald – he is incredibly active in the community, something I aspire to be.

One thing I cannot live without…

sports! We rep all the Arizona teams – the Cardinals, Diamondbacks, Suns and Coyotes!

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

a paramedic.

I’m inspired by…

my employees – they deserve a good life and we strive to give it to them.

The one person who motivates me is…

the entire team at Hawkeye Electric, who work hard to help us succeed and become the best electrical company in Arizona.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

to end bullying. The Chandler Compadres work with incredible beneficiaries like the Boys & Girls Clubs of East Valley and ICAN to keep the kids on the right path with the necessary tools they need to succeed.

The perfect day would be…

an entire day without my phone. No texts, no emails, just quality time with friends and family.

My first job was…

as a paper boy.

My favorite escape…

is enjoying a day with my wife at Canyon Lake.

My life…

is wonderful, I wouldn’t change a thing.

I’m currently working on…

raising money for the Compadres and the six wonderful East Valley charity organizations we help.

Always…

work hard and enjoy life.

Never…

give up.

Favorite Quote…

“Make America Great Again”.

Biggest Dream…

retire early and spend my days lounging on a beach.

My Pet Peeve(s)…

people who aren’t punctual.
