A typical day in my life includes…

AM: Wake up around 5, coffee + read a book/write down goals for the day/work, time with my boys + drop off at school, gym, head to the office + work.

PM: Meet with local makers and small business owners, pick-up boys from school, work, family time, work.

Every day must haves: Americano and juice from Kaleidoscope.

I was born…

in McHenry, Illinois. We moved to Tempe when I was 5.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

my family is here. Also, I love the weather and the mountains.

I’m listening to…

King of Kings from Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History podcast.

My family…

is full of exceptional humans. We have a big Greek family that keeps growing and it’s wonderful.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

Kristen Green, founder of Forerunner Ventures. She’s one step ahead of the giants when it comes to spotting and investing in new retail trends. I admire her for being a risk-taker who sees past the noise and for building a VC company from the ground up.

One thing I cannot live without…

sunshine.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

Walt Disney or Jane Goodall.

I’m inspired by….

my husband. He wakes up at 3, works hard and he’s an engaged parent and loving husband. He’s also a great friend and good to others. If you can’t tell, I’m a fan.

The one person who motivates me is…

my dad. He’s always been my biggest supporter. It doesn’t matter what I set out to do, he dreams along with me and then we strategize on how to make it happen. When I was younger, he made me feel like my words held value and believed my capabilities had no limits, therefore I thought those things about myself.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

that every person born into the world held equal value.

The perfect day would be…

with my husband and our boys discovering a new city somewhere in the world without electronics or an itinerary.

My first job was…

Sous-chef at my dad’s restaurant when I was 12. I had cuts and burns on my hands and had to learn to work fast and get things done under pressure and despite injury. I’m grateful my dad never protected me from doing hard things.

My favorite escape….

a hot bath.

My life…

has taken time to flesh out. I’ve worked hard at cultivating a peaceful core and creating a life where my day is filled up doing things I love. Best of all, my spare time is spent with people who matter most to me.

I’m currently working on…

curating our spring gift boxes at Birdytell.

Always…

be good to others, be grateful, apologize when you are wrong.

Never…

believe everything you think.

Favorite Quote…

See a need, fill a need.” ~ Bigweld from Robots

Biggest Dream…

when all is said and done, to know I lived with zero regrets.

My Pet Peeve(s)…

excuses.
