A typical day in my life includes…

aaha, aside from my spontaneous nature I have a pretty good routine. Work days I usually wake up early, exercise, clean and cook breakfast. Work is from 10am to 6pm and my work days are very random due to the variety of responsibilities of my job. I am doing something new everyday. I manage a condo development in Downtown Phoenix five minutes from my home, it’s awesome and I absolutely love my job. When I get out of work I usually go to the skatepark until 10pm. On my days off I try to truly separate myself from work and enjoy some time out in nature. My favorite spot is out at Butcher Jones at Saguaro Lake, that’s the closest thing to a beach that Arizona has.

I was born…

in Mesa, Arizona.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

is the diversity that it has. You can drive any direction and be at a river, the lake, the forest or in snow! There are so many beautiful nature spots out here, I’ve lived here all my life and there are still sights I haven’t seen yet! The sunshine is my favorite and something about the desert is so captivating. I can’t seem to leave here. I love it, I’m a true desert rat haha.

I’m listening to…

Neil Young currently. I’ve been on a Neil Young kick lately but I listen to a wide variety of music including indie, folk, rock, country, EDM, house music…you name it!

My family…

is huge. My Dad came from Vietnam and my mother from Cambodia. However my mother was adopted by two families and still has her biological parents in Cambodia. When the Khmer Rouge took over in Cambodia they did a mass genocide and my mother was separated from her family. The crazy thing is everyone survived. So now we naturally have a large family. I primarily grew up with my German grandparents. I have two older brothers and we all still live in Arizona.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

someone of great knowledge. There is really no name that comes to mind; it’s either a really handsome man or a well known psychologist or anthropologist, someone who can teach me something!

One thing I cannot live without…

is skateboarding. It is my form of meditation, it sounds weird. It’s hard for me to sit and quiet my mind. I’m a busy woman and I juggle a lot of things but when I’m skateboarding I don’t think of….anything. It’s my sanity for sure.

I’m inspired by…

my mom. She has been through so much from the early age of 10. She works so hard and loves so hard. It’s amazing to see someone who has been through so much still have the capacity to love and work as hard as she does. She is always challenging herself and wanting to learn new things. She is the most kind, humble and beautiful human being I will ever know. She has taught me so much and I’m forever grateful.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

the mental health of others. I’m not really sure how to word that. My goal in this life is to help others see the world in a positive light. To be able to move past hardships and failure with confidence and pursue their true passions. That’s what it is! I want to help people find their passion and ultimately be the best version of themselves. I want to inspire and motivate people to get their ass up and LIVE.

My first job was…

at T.J. Maxx. It was a great experience but I had to leave, I spent all of my money there!

My favorite escape is…

to the woods. Out of the city where I can disconnect for a bit and just relax.

My life…

is amazing and there is not a single thing that I could complain about. I definitely took a rocky road that lead me to this point but I feel it’s finally smoothed out. I truly feel that the year of 21 was the best year of my life, I partied hard but I worked harder…I had all these great opportunities coming at me left and right. I remember one day I cried because things just felt TOO good. It sounds dumb but I feel like I’ve found my passion and when you find it everything you do feels 100%. I love my job, I still actively skate, and I get to help others.  All of my hard work came back tenfold and I feel like everything blossomed.

I’m currently working on…

a few things: a nonprofit skate that we just launched in Arizona called Skate Rising where we teach empowerment and philanthropy, Girls Progressive Skate Sessions where we gather all the girl skaters and just have a huge skate party with raffles and prizes. I also help collect money for a Food Bank in Cambodia with my mother. My goal is to build a community center out there eventually and have it expand.

Always…

do the things you are afraid of!

Never…

doubt yourself, you are capable of anything, fear is the only thing that holds anyone back.

Favorite Quote…

“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new” – Albert Einstein.

Biggest Dream…

to make a large difference in the world and be a motivational speaker, just less tacky.

My pet peeve…

is inconsistency and that is only because at one point in my life I was inconsistent. I would make plans and bail, I would set goals and only talk about it. I think if people practiced being consistent and true to their word it will dramatically improve their life and their success rate.
