Coworking Space, Galvanize, A Driving Force of Tech Industry in Arizona

Written by Jenna Medlin-Roark

Founded in 2012 in Denver, Colorado, Galvanize has been making waves as a coworking and technology company with six coworking locations across the United States.

At 50,000 square feet, Galvanize opened its newest and largest coworking site in Phoenix’s warehouse district in 2017.

Coworking has become an increasingly popular way for remote employees, freelancers, and large corporations to have a collaborative environment to conduct business outside of the traditional privatized office space. With inclusive packages, business owners and working-class professionals alike can enjoy the amenities Galvanize has to offer.

Mail packaging service, free printing, national mentor network, and virtual learning workshops are just some of the amenities offered for each type of membership at Galvanize.

At 400 members and 125 companies utilizing their Phoenix office alone, Galvanize has six different membership offerings, each containing various amenities to fit individual budgets.

Galvanize offers day passes, flex membership, and open seating, allowing members to sit at available desks throughout the space.

Galvanize’s reserved seating membership enables members to have a personal and reserved desk.

Members can also choose a private suite membership, allowing them to have their own private office.

With their member benefits, those with a Galvanize membership can take advantage of exclusive discounts and resources such as access to other Galvanize campuses, discounts, partnerships, and virtual workshops.

Our workshops, for example, include things such as, what you should know about Covid Resources such as PPP loans, and what that looks like for you as a startup or starting a business.

The Galvanize Phoenix mentor program includes 16 mentors with diverse skill sets and experience, including but not limited to a lawyer, a career coach, and many others to help grow and sustain a business or career. Members also have access to exclusive virtual content and programming such as a library with articles, blog posts, and records of hosted company-wide events.

With rising COVID-19 cases throughout the state, Galvanize Phoenix and every other business has had to adjust to shutdowns and increased regulations following March of 2020. Remote work became the new normal for many Americans and their employers.

It has been tricky because the purpose of what we do, historically, is to provide spaces [for your business]. It has pushed us to provide relevant products and content for our members.

In the wake of COVID-19, Galvanize offered a flex membership option for members. This option provides a solution for the new hybrid workstyle of coming to the office a couple of days a week or month. Galvanize implemented many new cleaning and sanitizing procedures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 inside their facilities and help their members feel safe.

Providing masks, temperature checks, and frequent sanitation are just a few of its new policies. They are also utilizing their garage doors to give their facility an open-air concept at their Phoenix location.

In 2020, Galvanize won the AZ Impact Award for being an Arizona Advocate. This award, given by the Greater Phoenix Chamber, focuses on businesses who have exceeded expectations in innovation, community impact, and adversity.

We are really pushing Arizona. We are pushing growth in the tech sector and are helping to retain talent. We are pushing for connections and organic networking opportunities.
