A typical day in my life includes… learning how to cook since I can’t eat my baked goods for dinner along with never missing a day in the gym or doing any type of physical activity.

I was born… May 8, 2000 Taurus (determined and ambitious)

My favorite thing about Arizona… The sunsets.

I’m listening to… Euphoria by Don Toliver Ft. Travis Scott and Kaash Paige

My family… is made up of girls, all raised by my single independent mother that gives us the world. I am the oldest out of 3 other younger sisters so I know what leadership is like and having to be the role model every step of the way. My family is super supportive of every decision and mistake made.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… Michelle Obama, I have looked up to her ever since I was 8 years old. Being able to connect with her over dinner would be such and amazing experience.

One thing I cannot live without… my sisters.

When I was younger, I wanted to be… A role model for younger girls and to inspire them that there’s no limit for who or what you want to become.  I’ve always been one to help and care for others in the time of need. This dream of mine started in 2008 when Barak Obama became president, my main role model was Michelle Obama at the time and I just thought she is she brilliant and positive. She truly inspired me to want to do good for others.

I’m inspired by… Melissa Alcantara, she is a personal trainer and she is so positive and sets new goals for herself and I absolutely love that.

The one person who motivates me is… my mom, I’ve always wanted to give her the life she truly deserves and she is NEVER not mentioned in my prayers because I hope that one day I could give her what she gave me in return.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be… the injustice of the CPS system so no child has to go through the traumatic experience of their voice not being heard.

The perfect day would be… pouring rain and watching Netflix.

My first job was… lifeguarding through the City of Tucson (my favorite job that I miss dearly).

My favorite escape… is to the gym or out for a run.

My life… is something that I try to keep positive because life itself isn’t easy and we all go through our own obstacles and we never know what someone could be facing.

I’m currently working on… two major things that get me very excited that I’ve been working hard at is passing my classes so I could become a future nurse along with working hard in the gym so that one day I can become a personal trainer as a side job.

Always… believe, encourage and trust upon your own worth.

Never… doubt myself!

Favorite Quote… “Never a failure Always a lesson”-Everyone makes mistakes and you have to look at it as a learning process.

Biggest Dream… My biggest dream is to travel the world, I don’t travel much and all I know is Tucson, Az. I want to learn about culture, eat different foods, and connect with people I never thought I would cross paths with.

My Pet Peeve(s)… Shoes in the house, bags on the bed, leaving toilet seats up when you flush.

More About Gemmia Gerald:
Currently, I am attending Pima Community College in hopes that one day I  become the best future nurse possible, until my goal is met I am a server at a local restaurant Bottega Michelangelo’s. When I am not at work or studying I am in the gym, I see physical activity as such an important aspect and the gym has turned into my escape when I need to think or just get into a better mindset.  When it comes to leadership I was naturally born into the role as I’m the oldest out of three younger siblings.
