Kids: Do my dogs count?

City you live in: Surprise! No really, that’s the name of the town.

A typical day in my life includes…

a 9 to 5 job, writing, photo editing, social media scheduling, research, and cuddling with my puppy/boyfriend family. And if I’m really lucky, a couple episodes of my latest Netflix obsession paired with a bowl of something yummy.

I was born…

in Vermont actually, the true story is unknown.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

is that season wise, we kind of get to have our cake and eat it too! I can be sunbathing at the pool one minute, hop in the car, drive two hours and go build a snowman if I want to!

I’m listening to…

The September Issue playing on the T.V in the background while I write. Fashion documentaries are motivating and occasionally give me ideas for topic to research and/or write about.

My family…

have been very supportive of my blogging. Being from an older generation, they don’t fully understand what I’m doing sometimes, but they are supportive nonetheless!

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

Diane Von Furstenberg. I mean wow! Wouldn’t that be something? She has such grace and carries herself with such elegance. The things one could learn from an evening with a woman who’s seen and done so much in her life.

One thing I cannot live without…

I always carry some sort of jacket with me. I may live in the desert but I am always freezing!

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

in the CIA. I was always told working for the government meant great job security and retirement benefits. I even looked up and researched their internship program! I figured it was the least monotonous job there could be working for the government so… Technically you’re not supposed to tell anyone though so…mum’s the word! Maybe they’ll recruit me as a fashion blogger for an undercover mission!

I’m inspired by…

many different go-getter women, both in my life and throughout history. My mother of course is the first for her creativity, and my sister for her never-ending kindness. Other icons include Diana Vreeland, Audrey Hepburn, Coco Chanel and even Elizabeth Taylor for their vivacious way of living and their ‘nothing can stop me’ views on life.

The one person who motivates me is…

it’s a mix of people really. My boyfriend/photographer has really been my emotional and physical rock through all my blogging ups, downs and diagonals. His Mother and mine have also helped me in so many ways, even with the small things from reminding me to eat when I get immersed in my work to keeping my favorite snack on hand for when I’m stressed on a deadline. And of course there’s my mentor and fellow fashion blogger Anja Tufina. Her voice is always in the back of my head offering advice, telling me to get my butt in gear when I’m being lazy and motivating me throughout all aspects of my work. She’s a godsend of a friend always takes my text or call regardless of what time it is in Italy. I couldn’t do what I do without them!

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

animal cruelty. Don’t get me wrong, humans need help too and there are many things I would like to change there as well. However animals are innocent and faced with the destructive power of humans are virtually powerless. That said my next thing would be to throw more financing into finding new ways to safely dispose of or repurpose waste to protect the health and vitality of our home planet.

The perfect day would be…

waking up slow at my vacation home or even a resort with my honey, then meeting our friends for brunch before all going on an adventure, maybe sailing. There would be sunbathing, swimming, exploring the different coves we come to, anything we want. Maybe even zip lining or parasailing if we are really feeling adventurous. We would have a picnic lunch on the boat then back to the resort for a full on spa day. After several hours of being pampered we would all meet up for a PJ party at our big home theater. Food would be served as would our favorite desserts and cocktails; we would lounge around, play games, watch our favorite movies and laugh long into the evening.

My first job was…

CEO of Jenna’s Farm eggs. Fresh eggs anyone? 50 cents a carton!

My favorite escape…

would be a return trip to Italy, but closer to home I would have to say trip to Sedona and Flagstaff. I was raised in the country and there is a back way to Flagstaff from Sedona that is just beautiful green forest, nothing like the rest of Arizona. My boyfriend took me there for our first real date so it holds special memories for me as well.

My life…

definitely has not gone ‘according to plan’ but I am obviously right where I am supposed to be at this moment in time…even if I’m not entirely sure where this is.

I’m currently working on…

making more connections here in Phoenix and reaching out to local brands and entrepreneurs for collaboration. It’s important to boost those in your local community so you can all grow together. My goals for 2018 really center on nailing down my brand and refining my presentation.

Always…

be your biggest critic but use your inner criticism as fuel! And if your instincts tell you to do something, even if you don’t know why, do it!

Never…

forget to bring your swimsuit on a trip! Even when going somewhere you don’t think you’ll need it.

Favorite Quote…

“Passion and persistence are what matter. Dreams are achievable and you can make your fantasy come true, but there are no shortcuts. Nothing happens without hard work.” -DVF

Biggest Dream…

to be able to live off my blogging and influencing. To be my own boss, set my own schedule and work from home…or Italy, London, Greece, Tokyo or wherever I want!

My Pet Peeve(s)…

the underuse of turn signals while driving and topics of conversation such as money, politics or religion at the dinner table or holiday events. It’s just bad etiquette in my opinion.
