Hay Day Music Fest to Debut This Fall in Downtown Tempe

On Sept. 28 from 2 to 11:30 p.m., intimate Hayden Square Amphitheater, once an epicenter for Mill Ave.’s music scene in the ’90s, will come back to life with the debut of Hay Day Music Fest. The one-day festival will celebrate the grand opening of Ted’s Refreshments who, along with Pedal Haus Brewery, is putting on the festival.

Festival attendees can expect performances from a range of local and national musicians including Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, The Pistoleros and Las Calakas. Wise Monkey Orchestra and The Hourglass Cats will perform inside Ted’s Refreshments. Craft beer and signature cocktails will be provided by Pedal Haus Brewery and Ted’s Refreshments.

Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door. VIP packages are available for $100 and include raised deck viewing, access to the second story patio (formerly Gibson’s), private bathrooms and bar as well as four Pedal Haus Brewery beer or two Mexican Moonshine margaritas inside the amphitheater.

Ted’s Refreshments will officially open on Sept. 16 in the space formerly occupied by Balboa Cafe. The new neighborhood bar features a dive-like vibe, eclectic decor and a fun throwback atmosphere.
