Dollyween Takes Over Sidewinder on Roosevelt Row

Halloween is getting a little rhinestone sparkle and a whole lot of country flair at Sidewinder, where Dolly Parton fans can celebrate with a night of music, themed drinks and prizes. On October 31, the Roosevelt Row diner and late-night bar will host Dollyween from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The space and patio will get a spooky makeover with red lighting, cobwebs, skeletons and Dolly-themed decor, while country disco and sing-alongs set the mood. Guests are encouraged to dress as the country music legend for the costume contest. The winner, announced at 11 p.m., will receive a $250 Sidewinder bar tab.

“Dollyween is really just an excuse for everyone to have a fun night together,” says chef and co-owner TJ Culp. “Dress up as Dolly, have a drink, sing along to the songs you know by heart and stay late. Halloween should be a little weird, a little chaotic and not taken too seriously.”

The themed menu will feature cocktails, shots and comfort food with a Dolly-inspired twist. The Jolene, an $8 cocktail made with sweet tea vodka, peach and ginger, offers a sweet sip for the occasion. Guests looking for something quick can order the $7 “9 to 5,” a pink lemonade shot.

The food lineup includes the $7 Dolly Dog, a hot dog topped with sloppy joe filling and slaw. A $1 prize wheel will offer chances to win candy, cold beer, hot dogs, mystery shots and other prizes. Horror movies playing on vintage tube televisions will add another layer of Halloween atmosphere.

Located in a historic diner space at 924 E. Roosevelt St., Sidewinder is known for its casual drinks, late-night bites and laid-back neighborhood atmosphere. For more information, visit sidewinderphx.com.
