Steve LeVine Entertainment & Public Relations (SLE), Disco Donnie Presents (DDP), and Evening Entertainment Group (EEG) bring electro producer and DJ Felix Cartal to Axis Radius for REPUBLIC on Saturday, January 26, located at 7340 E. Indian Plaza Scottsdale, Ariz. Doors open at 9 p.m. and the event is 21 years and over.
Taelor Deitcher, known best as Felix Cartal established himself in 2007 with remixes of “Moving Lights,” “Take it Like a Man,” and unofficial remixes for music by Britney Spears and Ashlee Simpson. His initial mark on the dance music scene was the debut of his first extended playlist (EP), “Skeleton” in 2009, where the 24-year-old caught the attention of fellow electro DJ’s Steve Aoki and MSTRKFT. This resulted in the release of his debut long play(LP), “Popular Music” on Aoki’s record label, Dim Mak Dance. Cartal went on to release his fifth EP, “The Joker” which was created in one day and meant to be featured only during his live sets, but was later played by well-known producer/DJ’s Benny Benassi and Diplo, among others.
Cartal’s unique sound incorporates frequency variation and low points in sections, where he creates melody driven, heavy bass lines. In 2012, the Canadian-born DJ broke ground in the iTunes Top 10 Electronic chart in North America with his “Different Faces” LP featuring the single “Don’t Turn on the Lights” with Polina.
Recently, Cartal began a bi-weekly podcast entitled “The Weekend Workout,” which is an hour-long live mix showcasing new electronic dance music (EDM) including some of his unreleased tracks. The electronic heavyweight’s busy touring schedule has taken him to the world’s most renowned shows and festivals including; Tomorrowland in Belgium, Electric Zoo in NewYork and Sound Wave in Arizona just to name a few.
