Tucson’s La Paloma Academy has the ultimate pairing – a day on the links coupled with a fundraiser to benefit student learning at the Fourth Annual Raising Funds 4 Raising Kids Golf Classic.

To help ensure their students and teachers have all the necessary tools to learn, teach and succeed in school, La Paloma Academy is hosting the fourth annual Raising Funds 4 Raising Kids Golf Classic on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Arizona National Golf Club in Tucson.

“Parents, teachers, and the Tucson community have really helped make a significant difference in the educational experience of our students,” said La Paloma Academy Superintendent Raena Janes.

Noted as one of the largest and fastest-growing charter schools in Southern Arizona, La Paloma Academy hopes to help fund teaching technology for the school’s classrooms with the help of this spring’s golf tournament.

This year’s fundraising goal is to wire each classroom for successful learning, starting with SMART boards (interactive white boards). Funds raised through this year’s Golf Classic will go toward the purchase of these SMART Boards. Last year’s Golf Classic raised $25,000, which helped to add 30 computers to the school’s computer labs.

“I have no doubt that this year we can come through again to meet the needs of our growing student population,” Janes says.

The format is a four-man scramble – pick your own team, three drives per person. On-site registration is at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 16. Entry is $95 per player or $375 for a golf foursome. This fee includes breakfast, greens fee, cart, range balls, lunch, La Paloma Academy polo shirt and raffle ticket. Players also have the option of participating in an on-site silent auction.

This year, families can also participate in the first-ever La Paloma Academy Friday Night Glow Golf game on Friday, April 15th at 6 p.m. There will be glow-in-the-dark golfing, music, food, a wine tasting and a silent auction. Ticket sales begin February 15, with the first 100 tickets only $15 per person. Tickets will be $25 per person thereafter.

Sponsor packages for the Raising Funds 4 Raising Kids Golf Classic are available at a variety of sponsorship levels. Every contribution helps provide educational technology for La Paloma classrooms. Plus, La Paloma Academy is a 501(c)(3) organization, so donations are tax deductible. Sponsorship participation ranges from $200 - $8,000 donation requests, with different amenities at each level.
