Great wine connoisseurs can find a wine pairing for almost every appetite under the sun. Tucsonans can enjoy stellar pairings selected by a traveling winemaker who will be visiting the Tucson area.


CORE Kitchen & Wine Bar will present a very special wine dinner this February 10, featuring the wines of the acclaimed Peay Vineyards. Owned by renowned winemaker Andy Peay, Peay Vineyards is based high above the Pacific Ocean in far northwest Sonoma County, California and produces very limited quantities of each of their wines, sometimes representing fewer than 100 cases. Select Peay wines are offered to a tight circle of wine lovers, and the label is widely known for its Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay, Viognier and Roussanne/Marsanne Wines.

A three-course dinner created by the culinary team of The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, complemented by wine pairings presented by the charming and entertaining Andy Peay. Andy Peay is co-founder of Peay Vineyards, recently recognized as Winery of the Year by Wine and Spirits Magazine and the San Francisco Chronicle.

The wine dinner will take place Thursday, February 10, 2011 with a reception occurring at 6 p.m. and dinner to follow at 7 p.m. CORE Kitchen & Wine Bar is located at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain (15000 North Secret Springs Drive Marana, Arizona). The cost is $95 per person exclusive of tax and gratuity.

Organizers of the event advise that space is limited and therefore, reservations are required.

First Course

Shaved Duck Prosciutto, Rocket Lettuce, Salted Cantaloupe, Agave-Lime Vinaigrette

Second Course

Pan-Seared Bronzini, House-Cured Braised Bacon, Pinto Pure, Wilted Dandelion Greens

Third Course

Buffalo Short Ribs, Smoked Yukon Potato, Braised Kale, Tobacco Onions, Dried Cherry Gastrique
