And so, April Fools comes to a close. From Google’s name change to Johnjay and Rich’s “exclusive” interview with Sandra Bullock, even those in the golf world had a few giggles this first day of April.

An organization named Kid’s Golf Free, introduced left and right handed golf balls designed specifically for the common swing flaws associated with swinging on a particular side. The press release warns, “Severe slices will occur if the wrong ball is used. Right Handed balls hit by Left Handed golfers and Left Handed balls hit by Right Handed golfers will slice severely and should never be attempted.” In all seriousness, what a clever way to draw traffic to a site, interesting and outrageous—the perfect April Fool’s recipe.

The A Position.com, an online golf media network, released an April Fool’s edition that had me entertained for the better part of my morning coffee. My favorite headline “Chicago Golf Club Takes Aim at Slow Play, Issues Firearms to Rangers.” The article assures readers that “rangers will not be encouraged to shoot to kill, at least at first.”

Alright, enough joking about. . . Seriously, this is where the April Fooling concludes.

Moving on to another hot topic, Easter is this Sunday. And as the oodles of guests are expected to congregate in your home, what better way to pass the time than a round of golf?

I’ve played several holiday rounds myself—Christmas Day rounds prove to be a favorite in my family. This Easter, the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort is offering an exceptional line up of Easter festivities to please guests and hosts (who can leave the details to the resort) alike.

The resort has several stay and play options, however this Easter weekend also brings with it the opportunity to dine on some extraordinary Easter cuisine.

If Easter brunch is what suits your palate, the Signature Grill offers a mouth-watering menu selection such as spice-glazed ham, rosemary roasted leg of lamb, eggs Benedict, a gourmet omelet station, artisan cheeses, crab and asparagus tarts, wild mushroom quinoa pilaf, fresh, crisp salads and more. Easter brunch is offered for $55 per guest, $25 for children ages 6 to 10 and is free for children under 5.

Searching for an extra-special Easter dinner locale? Then make your way to Primo restaurant for a traditional “Pasquetta” Italian dinner. The Pasquetta dinner includes four courses of fresh, organic Primo specialties including Brown Orchard lamb with braised peas and pancetta, spaghetti with spring fava beans and baby vegetables, Florentine-style grilled bistecca, grilled baby artichokes, chicken dumplings and much more. Dinner seating begins at 4 pm and is offered for $65 per person.

In addition to the amazing Easter meals, the resort is offering an Easter Weekend Package, which includes $600 in resort credits for every night of your stay.

While on the property, be sure to take advantage of the hotel’s award-winning, 27-hole Arnold Palmer Signature golf course, or let the holiday stress melt away and rejuvenate at the 20,000 square foot Hashani Spa.
