Kathy's scoop on which Phoenix entrepreneurs were on the red carpet at the Oscars.

Did you recognize those well known Phoenix entrepreneurs on the red carpet of the Oscars? Yes, that was Rolf Lohse and Francis Tesmer being photographed on the red carpet along with other Valley residents in formal attire. Ok, so Rolf and Francis, the co-owners of Rolf's Salons and Spas in Arizona weren't at the Oscars in Los Angeles, but they were at the Arizona Biltmore for one of the official viewing parties sanctioned by the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences!

The live viewing party "Oscar Night America" which attracted 256 guests, was one of 50 approved by the Academy across the country. And I love the creative "golden" touch of the bronze statues on the red carpet at the Phoenix gala. Take a closer look at the pics of the the bronzed gentleman above and you'll realize that they are actually not statues. They are four professional models who were spray painted in someone's garage prior to the gala.

The team at Rolf's Salon  presented a glamorous fashion show at the Phoenix event with the models styled in "Hollywood through the ages" costumes, make up and hair. Models were transformed into past and present celebrity icons including Elizabeth Taylor, Vivian Leigh, Natalie Portman, and Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe.

And Rolf's Salon at Gainey Village was abuzz earlier that day with a pre-event. About 20 guests from the Oscar Night America in Phoenix took advantage of Rolf's $75 package deal for a "red carpet ready" champagne brunch, hair and make up.  And quite the show-biz addition was  celebrity Chef Zipora who prepared the culinary delights brunch.

The Phoenix event of Oscar Night America was chaired by Dr. Marc Rosen and benefits the Arthritis Foundation Arizona Chapter. Kacie McSorley was the Honorary Chair of the gala.

Also on the Phoenix event committee were Dr. Jimmy Chow, Bettina Chow, JoAnn Holland, Nancy Keane, Joyce Santis, and Maureen Wade. The Arizona chapter of the Arthritis Foundation is dedicated to helping the 1 million people in Arizona affected by arthritis.
