Is it a celebrity? A Saudi Prince? Kathy’s got the buzz on the $35 million Scottsdale superstar home.

 So who is looking to buy the north Scottsdale house  with a $35 million price tag? The luxury mansion which sits on 19.2 acres is going on the auction block this weekend and some neighbors are speculating that a celebrity or billionaire or a Saudi king could be their new neighbor. Or will the indoor tennis court and indoor swimming pool attract a professional athlete? 

Well,  don’t be so quick to speculate because the new owner may not have to be a billionaire to buy the property. I first visited the house ten years ago as a freelance TV reporter, and toured the mansion with TV cameras and reported on it for the station. It was listed  ten years ago at the same price - $35 million!  (FYI, here’s a fun fact.... That’s the price that billionaire T. Boone Picken’s wife paid about 5 years ago for her 5,800 sq. ft. beachfront home in Del Mar.)  

 Well, news flash, you have to be a Donald Trump to be able to buy this  sprawling property on Happy Valley Rd. with a 10,000 sq. ft. main house, 2 guest houses and 9-car garage.   Especially because now, the property is being subdivided and sold as three separate lots.  The starting bid is $5 million and Concierge Auctions , a New York based company is hosting the private auction.  Stay tuned and we'll let you know the results.
