Heard Museum is showcasing “Friday Kahlo-Her Photos” where visitors can enjoy an intimate glimpse into Frida Kahlo’s life through fascinating images including self-portraits as well as portraits of family and friends. Explore the life of Frida Kahlo through an intimate and incredible selection of over 240 photographs and personal items and only on display through February 8, 2016. The Phoenix Art Museum has transformed the Steele Gallery with “The White Shirt According to Me, Giafranco Ferré”, offering a stunning selection of 27 of Ferré’s white shirts created over the course of his career. This stunning exhibition showcases a selection of photographs, sketches, technical designs, and videos courtesy of the private archives of the Gianfranco Ferré Foundation. Chartreuse Contemporary Art Gallery is hosting the opening reception for their new February exhibition “Pigment & Power” featuring two talented artists Fred Tieken and Michael Flechtner. Each of these artists has mastered the art of exposing the absurdities of popular culture through his chosen medium. An exciting combination of art and artists, Tieken just returning from the LA Art Show and Flechtner back from his show in Havana, Cuba. Modified Arts is currently showcasing the solo exhibition of William LeGoullon titled (Un)Intended Targets that features a stunning selection of photographs that the artist created over a three-year period. Be sure to join them for the First Friday Reception on February 5th from 6-10pm. The monOrchid is hosting the Opening Reception for their latest February exhibitions from 6-10pm. Shade Projects features the solo retrospective exhibition of Chris Maker: People, Place and State 2005-2015, highlighting ten years of work and artistic development melding together Maker’s unique perspective and background in city planning and architecture. While Bokeh Gallery Shade Projects is proud to present Conjuring the Consecrated, the solo photography exhibition of Cherie Buck-Hutchison. The exhibition highlights the artist’s latest work of digitally composited photos manipulated to create meaning relevant to contemporary issues.
