Get an inside perspective on Broadway in Scottsdale Public Art’s latest exhibition Broadway Revealed: Behind the Theater Curtain.

 

Exploring New York's iconic theater district featuring photographs by Artist, Stephen Joseph. His images capture some of Broadway's most critically acclaimed productions, as well as giving us an inside view of how these dynamic shows happen. The artist literally takes us “ Behind the curtain” showcasing “the complex network of design, lighting, directing and staging that comes together to create the magical world of theater” says Scottsdale Public Art. This exhibition was organized by Bedford Gallery, Lesher Center for the Arts, Walnut Creek, CA.

Join Scottsdale Public Art for a wonderful free workshop of Customized Mask Making with ASU School of Film, Dance and Theatre on May 13th from 2:00-5:00pm for all ages. Participants will have the opportunity of “learning to make masks like the professionals, Using nontoxic plaster bandages and paperclay, learn to produce custom fitting masks economically and quickly with Connie Furr Soloman and Ashley Gamba.“ Spaces for this workshop are limited but you can reserve your spot by RSVP today!

This is a wonderful exhibition perfect for all ages offering an interesting look at the magical world of Broadway! Broadway Revealed: Behind the Theater Curtain will be on view through May 31, 2015. The Gallery @ Scottsdale Civic Center Library is a beautiful 2500 square foot gallery space in that Scottsdale Public Arts manages, offering “engaging artistic, visual, and educational experiences to the public—building community through free, accessible, quality exhibitions.”
